Florida Woman Allegedly Guns Down Pet Parrot During Drunken Fight With Husband

A Florida woman drunkenly shot her pet parrot while fighting with her husband. Early last week, police arrived at the Largo, Fl residence and arrested the couple on domestic battery charges. However, there appeared to be no charges relating to the bird’s death as animal cruelty or otherwise.

During 61-year-old Suzanne Mulalley’s and 66-year-old Mulalley’s alleged drunken fight, Suzanne shot and killed the African gray parrot inside the home as reported by Daily News. The gun was a .389 Glock handgun according to the affidavit obtained by WGN9. Police said both Suzanne Mulalley and her husband were intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Following the death of the bird, the couple walked outside and pushed each other. Then Suzanne Mulalley used a bottle to spray her husband with water.

Although police charged them with domestic battery, the couple both denied committing the crime. Oddly, police did not appear to charge Suzanne Mulalley for allegedly killing the parrot with a gun. Rather, a stipulation of her release was “no contact [with] animals” or firearms according to the document obtained by the Post

This was not Suzanne Mulalley’s only run-in with the police this year. In February, police charged her with resisting an officer. In this instance, officers responded to the Largo residence after reports of gunfire. Reportedly, a firearm was discharged in the backyard during an argument according to the affidavit.

Officers reported seeing “numerous loaded firearms in plain view inside the residence” during the February incident. The charges involved in this case were dropped last month. It is unclear if Suzanne Mulalley was under the influence of alcohol during this incident as well.
