This is rum sourced from Foursquare in Barbados and sold through Total Wine and More in the USA. Carrying a modest price tag and a reasonable age statement, I was intrigued when I stumbled across a bottle on sale.
Caramel, some ethanol. Vanilla, molasses, mild fruity funk.
Thin, oaky and sweet. Theres not a lot going on here and the oak is weirdly dominant with some thin astringency.
Short, sweet and faintly oaky. Overripe banana, confectioners sugar, funky sour tannins.
I was surprised how strange this was compared to the XO and the 12yr. The oak was also more poorly prominent here compared to the 12yr also. Hmmm. Still a great value, but with all three on the shelf, Id soon rather reach for the 12 or XO first.
