Excerpt: Although most people will use it in Tiki drinks to provide serious fire power, be adventurous and try it in spirit-forward drinks to really let the bold flavors take center stage.
Excerpt: Frankly, I found the rum revelatory, even kind of quietly amazing. Sure, it hit on all the expected notes, and the quality didn’t ascend to completely new heights (though it scaled several rises of its own). But neither did it collapse and fall like a rock. In its own way, the rum redefined a good 151, moving it away from being a back-alley palate-mugger, to more of a semi-civilized, tux-clad thug.
Excerpt: Absolutely delicious and full bodied. Wouldn’t have this everyday given the ABV, but I would love to at least have the opportunity to use this in a few drinks including a Zombie. A bottle is around the £30 mark in the US of I’m not mistaken, so good value for money if you can get it.

House Review
Intro:
Distilled by Demerara Distillers Ltd in Guyana from fermented molasses, this Demerara style overproof rum is aged 5 years and is a classic in the rum universe. Let's dive in.
Nose:
Sweet honey, brown sugar, char, oak and toffee. Desserty and powerful. Ethanol is more shrouded than I wouldd have expected.
Taste:
A bit hot, but rich and loaded with toffee, chocolate, caramel and brown sugar. Quintessential rum character, very natural in its sweetness and loaded with flavor.
Finish:
Long finish, heat is very much in check. Soil, banana, cocoa, toffee and some pepper. Lovely complexity even to the very end, despite the heat.
Overall:
I have not been always been a fan of the other Hamilton I've had but this is heads above the rest, and quite lovely, even at proof. Big fan.
