  • Intro:

Distilled by Renegade in Grenada, this release features cane Code PC09H21-P2 and features cane from Lake Antoine Upper. This release features distillation via pot-still and I couldn't be more anxious to dig in.

  • Nose:

Powerful and ester driven. Almost a "meaty" sort of estery funk on this one. Vinegar, a touch of ash and salinity, slate and grabel, a meaty "beefy" funk. Packed with flavor, fruits lie in the background.

  • Taste:

Super sweet at first taste, the fruits lead the charge once more. Rock candy sweetness, pear, pineapple, pluot - it's all P's all the way down. Beefy esters return and introduce an oily, industrial ester tone as well.

  • Finish:

Long finish, the fruits wrestle control right back. This one is a fun rollercoaster - it's concentrated no matter what it throws at you. Intensely fruity, intensely soil driven, intensely meaty.

  • Overall:

The Octomore of Renegade would be a very qualified descriptor for this release, which is powerful, meaty, fruit forward and a new adventure at every turn. The beef funk isn't my favorite, but there's no doubt this is well produced.
